STRESS
Helping you to understand stress and how my classes can help

STRESSED....?
It's not just you! Believe it or not, we are in the middle of a stress epidemic and things are so bad, the World Health Organisation has called stress 'the health epidemic of the twenty-first century'. The cause of chronic stress is often down to our modern lifestyle, trying to burn the candle at both ends. We have lots of stress triggers, many more than our ancestors had.
BEEN FEELING STRESSED FOR SOME TIME?
A number of common complaints which can seem totally unrelated to stress, often have stress as the underlying root cause. This list can include anxiety, poor memory, lack of concentration and gut problems.
Over a long term, if not addressed, stress can lead to long term health conditions such as auto-immune disease, depression, strokes and even Alzheimer's Disease.

HOW CAN YOGA HELP
There are numerous scientific studies which show how yoga can reduce levels of stress in the body. An increasing number of GP's are recognising the benefits of yoga and are recommending yoga to their patients. Modern living causes us to spend too much of our time in a 'flight or flight' mode, causing our bodies to be on high alert. This in turn is resulting in chronic stress. Yoga helps to put us in a state of 'Rest and Digest', lowering our stress levels and therefore improving our overall well-being and reducing the risk of developing chronic illness.
My classes focus on connecting the mind and body together by integrating breathing techniques with mindful movements. The practice is extremely nourishing to both the mind and body.
